17-year-old wіɩd crested ibis expected to Ьгeаk breeding age record

On Monday afternoon, a wіɩd female crested ibis in Hanzhong City, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, successfully laid an egg. The bird 17 years old, which is equivalent to 50 years in human terms. If the hatching is successful, she will Ьгeаk the breeding age record of wіɩd crested ibises.

The staff of Shaanxi Hanzhong Crested Ibis National Nature Reserve will observe the situation and provide help when necessary.

The artificial breeding center of the reserve has so far welcomed four crested ibis chicks this year. Staff feed adult crested ibises taking care of their chicks with loach, beef and mealworm. They also provide materials like soft grass for nesting.
