Meanwhile, B-52 bombers in the same flights were armed with prototypes of the AGM-181A long-range cruise missile, capable of carrying the W80-4 thermonuclear warhead, a modernized iteration with yields up to 150 kilotons. Scheduled for preliminary operational capability by 2030, AGM-181A will eventually integrate with both B-52H and B-21 platforms, reinforcing America’s strategic strike capability.
