England comfortably defeated Panama (2-0) in their final World Cup 2026 group-stage match.

In the 84th minute, Thomas Tuchel decided to bring on former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. The Brentford midfielder managed to set a record among England players.

The reason is simple: Henderson has become the first Englishman to play at four World Cups. He previously featured at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 editions of the tournament.

Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford, David Beckham and several other England stars have all appeared at only three World Cups.

Incidentally, the record for the most World Cup appearances is jointly held by Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Both legends have taken part in six editions of the tournament.
