There’s a calm nostalgia that goes with news that a beautiful endemic has reappeared again at an easier location.
Once again, the mysterious bird has come out of hiding with birdguide Chris Ceriban’s tireless efforts in locating its current stomping grounds in Bangkong Kahoy Valley.
However, there a nice twist to its consistent appearance.
As bidguide Chris has observed, BK’s current avian star was jousting recently with adults, pushing them out.
Asserting his claim to his own small piece of Bangkong Kahoy in Mt Banahaw, here’s the feisty Immature Whiskered Pitta in Sub adult plumage, a most sought after Philippine endemic.
