Spanish media reported that Real Madrid’s Board of Directors is planning to strengthen the midfield. Among the targets that Real is paying attention to are two famous central midfielders, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad and Vitinha of PSG.
Zubimendi is a Spanish national player who just won the EURO 2024 championship a few months ago. Compared to Vitinha, Zubimendi is given priority by Real because there is a bad relationship between the representative of the Spanish capital and PSG. That’s why it won’t be easy for the “White Vultures” to bring the 24-year-old Portuguese player who is under contract with PSG until 2027 to the Bernabeu.
In Zubimendi’s case, Real can recruit this Spanish midfielder without worrying about whether Sociedad’s board wants to release him or not. According to AS, Zubimendi has a contract release fee worth 60 million euros. This is a quite high number, but not so high that it makes Real’s Board of Directors falter.
Notably, in the past, both powerful teams, Barca and Liverpool, also courted Zubimendi. Liverpool alone was even ready to pay the Basque team 60 million euros, but they encountered the problem that Zubimendi was not willing to go to Anfield to play football.
However, Liverpool’s board of directors is still very persistent and refuses to give up. The British press confirmed that the Meseyside team will soon return with the goal of Zubimendi. Compared to the previous approach, Liverpool’s appeal is now greater.
