In the darkness of a stormy night, a tiny hero with a big heart changed everything. Meet Rocky, a 5-month-old puppy who saved 67 lives from a deadly landslide in India. 🌧️🏔️
On the early morning of June 30th, torrential rains lashed Siyathi village. Rocky, curled up on the ground floor of his home, suddenly sensed danger. He barked frantically, waking his human, Lalit Kumar, from his sleep.
“I was woken by my dog’s strange barking, as if he was trying to warn me. When I reached him, I saw a huge crack in the wall and water pouring in,” Kumar shared.
⚠️ Thanks to Rocky’s instinct and urgent warning, Kumar alerted the entire village. Within moments, 22 families evacuated, fleeing just before a massive landslide flattened nearly a dozen homes.
But the night’s terror wasn’t over. As the rushing water surged through, Rocky was swept away while being carried. For hours, hope faded. But the next day, drenched and exhausted, he was found stuck in a bush nearly 3 km away, clinging to life.
He was rescued, shaken but safe — and hailed a local legend.
🐶 In just three months with Kumar, Rocky has become more than a pet. He’s a symbol of love, courage, and the power of listening when someone barks for help.
✨ Rocky didn’t just save lives. He saved a village.
