DETROIT — The Detroit Lions made quick roster moves today, signing two new players just hours after placing an offensive lineman and a cornerback on injured reserve.
The team announced that OL and CB were placed on IR due to injuries sustained during training camp, sidelining them for at least the first four games of the 2025 season. While the Lions did not release full details, sources say the offensive lineman is dealing with a lower-body injury, while the cornerback’s issue is believed to be related to his shoulder.
To fill the vacancies, Detroit signed2 new players, both of whom participated in workouts with the team earlier this week. The Lions are expected to integrate them into practice immediately in preparation for the upcoming preseason games.
Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the changes after practice. “It’s tough to lose guys this time of year, but we’ve got to keep moving forward,” Campbell said. “The new guys are hungry, and that’s exactly what we need.”
The roster shake-up comes as Detroit continues to fine-tune its depth chart ahead of the regular season. With expectations high following last year’s playoff run, the Lions are looking to keep momentum despite early setbacks.
