In a scene straight out of a wildlife thriller, Casper — the legendary white lion of Kruger National Park — was found in a shocking state, his face swollen and battered. Emergency wildlife vets rushed to the scene, darting the weakened king before beginning a desperate fight to save him.
According to KNP spokesperson Reynold Thakhuli, Casper was treated yesterday (August 13). Specialists administered intravenous antibiotics and applied powerful topical penicillin, while also collecting blood samples to unlock the mystery behind the alarming swelling.
Photos of the sedated lion, his once-majestic face now marked with wounds, have left the world holding its breath. Wildlife lovers everywhere are praying that this ghostly monarch of the savannah will rise again, stronger than ever.
