Robin was the last of 50 dogs rescued from a dog slaughterhouse and beef farm in Yongin, South Korea. Terrified and hesitant, he didnāt realize at that moment that taking his first steps away from the cages would change his life forever.

Thanks to a dedicated team collaborating with South Korean animal rights organizationsāincluding Humane Society International/Korea, LIFE, Korean K9 Rescue, and Yongin Animal Care Associationāthese dogs were saved from euthanasia after authorities closed the facility.

The Taepyeog dog slaughterhouse, once the largest in South Korea, was shut down in 2018, followed by the closure of the Busan dog meat market in 2019. Seoulās mayor declared the city ādog slaughter-freeā in 2020, and in 2019, the countryās highest court ruled against a breeder who electrocuted puppies, reinforcing the Law of Animal Protection.
While progress is being made, itās heartbreaking that dog meat is still sold in some regions. Every animal, no matter how small, deserves compassion, respect, and a chance at a better life. š¶š
