Witnesses reported the mother dog persistently attempting to nurse her fragile litter, her loyalty and resilience shining through despite the harsh conditions. How long they had been left alone remains unknown, but rescuers believe it was shortly after the puppies were born.

Upon discovery, all seven dogs were immediately transported to the ISPCA national animal facility in County Longford, where they received urgent veterinary care. Remarkably, despite exposure to cold and neglect, the mother and her puppies were found to be in good health.
