In the early hours of June 2nd, Real Madrid clinched the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League title after a 2-0 victory over Dortmund. This match saw Real facing many difficulties in the first half before scoring two goals to decide the game in the second half.
With this title, Real Madrid will earn the right to participate in two additional matches and potentially win two more titles. Specifically, Real Madrid will play in the UEFA Super Cup on August 14, 2024, against Atalanta, the reigning champions of the UEFA Europa League. This match will take place at the National Stadium in Poland.
Then, in December, Real Madrid will compete in the 2024 Intercontinental Cup (officially known as the 2024 FIFA Coupe Intercontinentale). This is a new tournament organized by FIFA to replace the annual Club World Cup.
The 2024 Intercontinental Cup will feature six teams: Real Madrid, Al Ain (UAE), Pachuca (Mexico), Al Ahly (Egypt), Auckland City (New Zealand), and an as-yet-unidentified representative from South America. Real Madrid will advance directly to the final of the tournament, which will be held on December 18, 2024.
