This rare spectacle occurred when lightning struck the mouth of the erupting Colima Volcano, captured by Hernando Rivera, a photographer from Bang Colima, Mexico.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To capture this extraordinary moment, Hernando Rivera camped 12 kilometers away from the volcano, enduring freezing temperatures ranging from 0 to 10 degrees Celsius.

 

The close-up encounter showcased the beauty and power of nature as the lightning struck the erupting Colima Volcano, leaving many astonished by Hernando Rivera’s captivating photograph.

The photographer also revealed his preference for solo expeditions, allowing him to immerse himself in intense concentration and capture the wondrous moments of nature. In previous excursions, Hernando Rivera had been fortunate enough to photograph a meteor streaking across the sky, soaring directly beside the Colima Volcano’s crater.
