Capture 33 wonderful moments of parents when they first meet their children: it is the warm love of family
1. They are the moments that change a mother’s life, body and soul, and birth photographer Vanessa Mendez has dedicated herself to preserving birth stories, giving them life outside of mama’s memory.
A recent birth she documented, the arrival of baby Indigo June, has gone viral because it highlights the beauty of birth and the incredible strength mothers possess.
2. The midwives helped Ashley to lay down, and continued to watch her, give her fluids and to check in with her. She was processing what had just happened! It was fast, super fast! Twins at 41 weeks, born at home, after weeks of prodromal labor and about 20 minutes of active labor.

Birth Photography is about capturing your child’s story from the very beginning and celebrating your powerful transformation in all its glory.
Birth at its core is a multitude of emotions, messiness, and uncontrollable joy! Whether it’s the best day of your life or the hardest, witnessing the complexity of our human journeys can bring healing and empowerment.
Birth Imagery is also the way we reclaim the birth narrative! Instilling confidence instead of fear in our next generation of mothers and birthing bodies.

3.This birth and these images remind me of a crisp, fall morning…where the air is still warm but there’s a hint of cold in the air. They are warm, inviting, peaceful, and beautiful. The kind of birth images I’d want to curl up with. I’ve also included footage of the moment baby was born – caught and delivered by Ashlee herself.

There was a moment where everybody just held onto me and put a hand on me. And I could feel… just everybody’s reassurance. And they just knew it was going to be OK, too…. It wasn’t a fearful, like, praying for you in this, like, terrifying moment… It was like, ‘We got you!’ It was amazing.”
