Explore the impressive world of the chestnut-mouthed species from northern India in beautiful colors

Chestnut-crowned LaughingthrushTrochalopteron erythrocephalum(aka Garrulax erythrocephalus)

 

The Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush is distributed from northern India and Nepal through the Himalayas to southern China. It is found in dense undergrowth and scrub bordering forest mainly at altitudes from 1,100 to 3,500 metres.

.The гасe G. e. nigrimentum occurring from eastern Nepal through Bhutan to southern China does not have the chestnut crown that its English name suggests and which occurs in the other races. However, the foгeһeаd and nape have chestnut while the rest of the crown is grey with black streaks.

The ear-coverts are black streaked with white and the mantle and breast are scaled with black. The wings and the sides of the tail are olive-yellow
