After meeting the males, females eаt one or more of the males from the breeding ball. This specie of female Anacondas see the males as drones who are unable to do anything else except perform mating activities.
Although the mating process may be necessary for the continuation of the specie but the female Anacondas do not seem to mind . once the mating process is done, there is then no need for the male to be around.
It then becomes a source of food and nourishment for the female who will be laying eggs. The reason is simple: The male is good protein for an expecting mother, especially one who fasts the whole seven months of pregnancy.
