The French forward has nearly confirmed that he will become a Real Madrid player in the summer 2024 transfer window.
In the early hours of May 26 PSG won 2-1 against Lyon in the French Cup final, concluding the season with three domestic titles: Ligue 1, the Super Cup, and the French Cup.
During the trophy ceremony, AS reporter asked Kylian Mbappe why he hasn’t announced his move to Real Madrid. Mbappe replied, “Because I think I should first finish the season with PSG and say goodbye properly.”
This was the first time Mbappe didn’t avoid or react negatively to questions about signing with Real Madrid. When asked if the deal would be finalized before or after the Euros, he said, “I don’t know because some details are still missing.”
In his final match for PSG, Mbappe played the full 90 minutes but did not score. The French forward ends his PSG tenure with 256 goals (a club record) in 308 appearances, contributing to 6 Ligue 1 titles and 9 other domestic trophies.
Mbappe’s contract with PSG ends on June 30. According to Marca, the 25-year-old striker has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Real Madrid’s management aims to announce the Mbappe deal before EURO 2024 begins.
