Unusual: Reeves pheasant is a unique and colorful long-tailed bird in the wild

In China’s first national forest park, Zhangjiajie, located in central Hunan Province, resides a fancy and unique bird known as the Reeves’s pheasant. This species is endemic to China and boasts a beautiful plumage adorned with a combination of gold, white, black, and red. However, the most remarkable feature of this pheasant is its exceptionally long tail, measuring up to 160 centimeters.

Sadly, the Reeves’s pheasant is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, with its population declining due to habitat fragmentation.

Currently, CGTN Nature’s documentary crew is filming at the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. They have shared footage that offers us a glimpse of this awe-inspiring natural wonder. Stay tuned for more breathtaking videos of Zhangjiajie as we continue to provide updates.
