On September 22, the animal rescue organization GWARP was alerted to a heartbreaking case: an elderly dog, abandoned, malnourished, and seriously ill, had been denied food and water for years.

Tethered to a short chain, surviving on scraps and waste, Jordan had endured repeated abuse from his intoxicated owner. His world had been reduced to just a few feet of movement, and the trauma left visible scars on both his body and spirit.

GWARP’s rescue team faced obstacles—the owner initially refused to release him, insisting Jordan was his property. Thankfully, with the help of local authorities, Jordan was finally freed and rushed into urgent care.

Medical examinations revealed osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, yet there was hope: the cancer had not spread to his lungs. Immediate amputation was required to save his life.
Once in Istanbul, Jordan underwent surgery to remove the cancerous limb. The operation was a success. Just three days later, he amazed the team with his resilience—learning quickly to navigate life on three legs, regaining his appetite, and finding joy in meals and attention.

A soothing bath helped wash away the trauma of his past, and gentle care nurtured his spirit back to life.
🌟 Today, Jordan is on the road to recovery, learning to trust again, and ready to embrace a brighter future. The GWARP team shares: “We all love you, Jordan. You are a survivor, and your journey has only just begun.”
💙 Let’s send Jordan all the love and support as he heals and thrives.
