With this device, users get both an Android smartphone for everyday use and a full-fledged personal computer running Linux or Windows 11 whenever needed.

US-based startup Nex Computer has officially unveiled NexPhone, a unique “3-in-1” smartphone capable of running three different operating systems: Android, Linux, and Windows 11.
At its core, NexPhone is designed to function as a standard Android smartphone for daily tasks. However, when required, users can switch to Linux or Windows 11, effectively transforming the phone into a portable computer.
Switching from Android to Windows 11 requires a reboot, allowing users to select the desired operating system at startup. In contrast, switching between Android and Linux can be done instantly without restarting, directly through the system interface.
Windows 11 can run directly on the smartphone with a UI optimized for smaller screens. Interestingly, the interface resembles Windows Phone, Microsoft’s discontinued mobile operating system. Users can also connect NexPhone to an external display to turn it into a complete Windows 11 or Linux desktop PC.

In terms of hardware, NexPhone features a 6.58-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB via microSD. The rear camera setup includes a 64MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the front houses a 10MP selfie camera.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging, offers water and dust resistance, and features a rubberized exterior for improved durability and impact protection.

Inside, NexPhone uses Qualcomm’s QCM6490 chipset, a multi-platform processor capable of supporting Android, Linux, and Windows 11.
NexPhone is expected to launch later this year at a price of $549. Early buyers can secure the price with a $199 deposit, protecting against potential price increases at release.
