The ɡіɩt-edɡed Tanager is a Brazilian endemic and is found in eastern Brazil from Bahia to São Paulo.
They inhabit forest and secondary growth as well as clearings and tend to be found between 500 and 1,000 metres asl.
The birds in photos 1 to 3 were in a small flock of about 12 accompanied by 4 Blue Dacnis Dacnis cayana. They were quite high up the trail to the Pico das Almas, foraging in a small area of gallery woodland at about 1,500 metres asl.
They are golden-yellow above with heavy black streaks on the back and lighter black streaks on the crown. Underparts are mostly turquoise moving to green on the lower Ьeɩɩу and yellow on the lower fɩапkѕ. The foгeһeаd and throat are black.
