The Maroon-breasted philentoma (Philentoma velata), is a ѕрeсіeѕ of passerine. Long placed in the Muscicapidae (Old World flycatchers) family when these were used as a “wastebin taxon”, they are now tentatively assigned to the Tephrodornithidae pending detailed study. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical swamps. Lenggor Forest Reserve or Hutan Simpan Lenggor is another popular birding place in Johor, Malaysia. It is located in a small town of Kahang, in the state of Johor Bahru, southern part of Peninsular Malaysia, some 250 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. It can be reached in approximately 4 hours by car. The birding place located along the road of forest reserve.

Although it is located in a small town, there are sufficient accommodation, local eateries, groceries shops, clinics and local bank to cater for the local and visitors to the town.

Lenggor Forest Reserve is certainly another wonderful birding destinations as it is a residence to many exotic birds, both endemic and migratory birds.
