Right now, Jax is doing really well — and that alone feels like a miracle we don’t take for granted. We’re slowly lowering his high-flow support and working toward the day he’s stable enough to begin reducing some of his medications. Little by little, we’re seeing pieces of his personality shining through again… and that feels like the greatest gift.
We still have a long road ahead. Doctors have prepared us for at least two to three more weeks in the hospital. Even after discharge, we’ll need to remain near Dallas for another month or two before we can finally return home.
Some days, it feels like life has been placed on pause — like we’re living in the quiet space between fear and healing, waiting for the moment when normal life begins again. But deep down, we know this journey will be worth every second.
Recently, many of you have reached out with donations, kindness, and support — and there truly aren’t enough words to express what that means to our family. This hospital stay has been far longer than we ever imagined. We genuinely believed we would already be preparing to return to Austin by now, but life had different plans.
Your generosity is what allows my husband to stay here with us — helping carry the emotional and physical weight of this journey without having to choose between being at Jax’s bedside and being home for our three other boys. That kind of support is something I will never be able to fully repay.
And to those who couldn’t donate but offered prayers, messages, and love — please know your support carries the same strength. On the hardest days, I read your comments and remind myself that we are surrounded by compassion, hope, and people who care.
We are deeply grateful. More than words can ever express.
Thank you for holding our family up during this chapter. 💛
