Buffalo Bills veteran safety Jordan Poyer showed off the gnarly and gruesome injuries his body has endured up to this point after more than a decade in the pros.

In August, the Bills brought back Jordan Poyer by signing him to their practice squad. He’s appeared in three games thus far, including last Sunday’s statement 28-21 home win over the archrival Kansas City Chiefs.

Poyer spent the 2024 season on the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins, tallying three pass breakups and 98 tackles. With a lot of young faces in the secondary, Sean McDermott and the Bills decided to bring back the former Pro Bowler for extra depth.

During his interview with the “Centered On Buffalo Podcast”, Jordan Poyer showed off the gnarly shoulder and finger injuries he has suffered, including his deformed fingers and the bump on his right shoulder:

And that’s why it’s impressive he’s still playing at the age of 34.

Poyer was an instrumental piece of the Bills’ rise in the AFC, helping them to six playoff appearances in his first seven seasons there. They ended their 18-year playoff drought in 2017, won their first playoff game since 1995 in 2020 and reached the AFC Championship Game that year for the first time since 1993.

While Josh Allen earned most of the credit for Buffalo’s rise, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White also headlined one of the league’s best secondaries. Without them, the Bills wouldn’t have emerged as one of the new premier AFC clubs, alongside the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.

Now in his age-34 season, and with his best days behind him, 2025 could be Poyer’s last shot at a Super Bowl. Buffalo is dominating the regular season again, but as always, success will be measured by how far they go in January.

“Dowdle isn’t a superstar, but he’s tough, efficient, and available — something Kansas City desperately needs right now,”
