Mychal Thompson, the father of Klay Thompson, is starting to get attention from younger people. A young fan asked him for a photo, and it was posted on the social media platform TikTok. However, the young fan was confused about which former NBA player she had a photo with.

The young fan thought that Thompson was the LA Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Although she’s right about the two former players having history with the Lakers, they are different people.

“WUT THE…? KAREEM?” Thompson posted on X.

Thompson and Abdul-Jabbar became teammates for three seasons. At that time, the legend known as the Skyhook was already in the latter stages of his career. The former Lakers superstar had the Bahamian center as his backup.

While teammates, Thompson averaged 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds as a reserve. Abdul-Jabbar, on the other hand, put up 14.1 points and 5.8 rebounds during that span.

Mychal Thompson and his family had an extra seat for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion became Klay Thompson’s plus-one after they confirmed their relationship in July.

Megan didn’t just eat and spend time with the Thompsons, however. She also took over the kitchen and prepared the turkey for the entire family.

During Thompson’s appearance at ESPN LA, he was asked about Megan’s cooking. The older Thompson was proud of the rapper’s kitchen skills and had the biggest compliment.
