Klay Thompson renames his boat after Megan Thee Stallion: “This relationship’s getting pretty darn serious”

Thompson has renamed his most prized possession after his girlfriend.

The relationship between Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion is getting more serious by the day.

After Megan cooked Thanksgiving Dinner for Klay’s parents, Mychal and Julie, the Dallas Mavericks guard posted an Instagram photo of his famous boat, bearing the name SS Stallion and the address “Houston, Texas,” below it. Previously, the Axopar 37 Cabin performance boat was called the “Nordic Knife” and “Splash Express.”

While he did not write a caption for the photo, it was an obvious reference to his girlfriend, who was born in San Antonio, Texas, but was raised in Houston, which she considers her hometown.

“Spending holidays together and renaming the ship … this relationship’s getting pretty darn serious!” wrote TMZ Sports.

Meg supports Klay

Klay and Meg were first rumored to be dating last summer, with the two confirming their relationship weeks later when they attended an event for her foundation together. Since then, they have been inseparable, whether vacationing, playing golf, or being on Thompson’s boat.

Early on, the relationship had many doubters, who didn’t think Meg’s hip hop persona was a good match for Klay’s clean-cut image. Shaquille O’Neal even gave their love affair a six-week timeline, which, of course, they have easily surpassed.

Last month, there were speculations that the couple had moved in together, based on a photo on Meg’s Instagram account that showed two hands forming a heart, with one hand holding a key and a house in the background.

The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper has also attended a handful of Thompson’s games this season. Megan was at the arena when Klay exploded for 17 fourth-quarter points against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, leading the Mavericks to a much-needed 114-110 victory. She even asked Klay if he had heard her screaming for him during the game.

Getting the stamp of approval

Two days before Klay’s big game, the Thompsons spent Thanksgiving with the couple in Los Angeles, and Megan stepped up big time when she cooked dinner for Klay’s parents. Based on what Mychal said on Friday, they had a blast, thanks mainly to the sumptuous dinner prepared by the award-winning rapper.

“The Thanksgiving dinner was the best Thanksgiving food I’ve ever eaten,” Mychal told ESPN L.A. “Megan Thee Stallion should be Megan Thee Chef. That’s how good the food was. It was unbelievable. She went out of her way to make sure everybody was well-fed. We had to take tons of bags home. There were so many leftovers. So, our guests had to take home. And it was one of the best Thanksgivings we ever had, thanks to Megan.”

One day later, Julie and Megan sat together courtside when the Mavericks faced the Los Angeles Lakers. The Mavs lost that one, but the following day, they finished their L.A. trip with a 1-1 record by beating the Clippers.

Overall, it was a great week for Thompson, who, after starting off the season slowly, finally had a breakout performance against the Clippers. More importantly, he also got the stamp of approval from his parents for Megan. Renaming his beloved boat after her was the icing on the cake.
